After graduating from Oberlin, she continued on to a Masters in Higher Education Administration at Northeastern University and began work in admissions at small private colleges, covering everything from student interviews to financial aid questions. Her professional expertise includes working with international students and students who have spent time in non-US school systems, the International Baccalaureate, and competitive scholarship and honors program applications. Shannon has also spent significant time living and working abroad, especially during her time as an English teacher in the Japanese public school system!
