PA Cyber On-Demand Tutoring
We are excited to be launching On-Demand services for PA Cyber 6-12 students!
Tutors are REQUIRED to provide On-Demand services when students no-show on a tutoring session or cancels with less than 2 hours notice. Any session a tutor takes with a student for On-Demand services is to be a maximum of 20 minutes. On-Demand services are meant to provide support for students who are seeking quick resolve or assistance with a question on an assignment. If the student needs further assistance they will need to schedule a full length session with the tutor.
*** If a student visits on-demand and likes a tutor but is regularly scheduled with a different tutor for the same subject, please ask them to contact admin and record this information in the exit survey along with marking it for admin review so we can handle with care.***
**If you meet with a student and they do not have a tutor they are working with but would like to set up regular sessions with you, please work out a schedule with the student.
Notify admin in the exit survey with the schedule and mark the survey for admin review.**
Policy and Procedures for No-Show students + How To Log into On-Demand Services
If a student cancels the session with less than 2 hours notice, tutors will need to:
A. Log in to the session and then
B. Log out and end the session.
This is a change in process that tutors need to be aware of in regard to the 2-hour cancellation policy.
If a student does not appear in their regularly scheduled session–
- After 5 minutes the tutor must reach out to admin and let them know the student has not shown
- Admin staff will reach out and try to get the student into session
Admin will notify the tutor that the student will not be joining the session
OR
15 minutes has passed with no word from admin (meaning you are 20 minutes into the scheduled session)
3. Tutor will end No-Show session
4. Tutor will proceed to log into On-Demand services
Make sure you log into your 6-12 Pearl account
(Tutors who do not tutor at the 6-12 level will remain in their K-5 session for the remaining session time.)
5. Once the tutor has logged into 6-12 Pearl account
Visit your name in the top right corner
Toggle ON Video Help
6. Going Live for Video Help popup will appear
Set the Going Live time to the remaining session time
If your no-show session was from 3:00 – 4:00 PM and it is now 3:20 PM set your time for 0 Hours 40 minutes
7. Click Go Live
